As soon as I check in many members, including the President, Kara Bolton, immediately said hello and welcome.  I saw many familiar faces as I scanned over the sea of people, about 250 in attendance I believe.  In the sea of some familiar faces, I was introduced to many new people and placed at a table where I met a lot of wonderful bankers from Florida Credit Union.  Everyone was very enthusiastic and welcoming.

We were announced, our business profile was read, and I received a BA-NCF pin.  What a feeling of accomplishment!!  I am excited to be a part of this organization and look forward to the possibilities and new people I will be introduced to.

I have been so lucky to work with such wonderful clients and in the case, builders, as well!  Pridgen Homes not only builds a strong home they also build a home with the utmost respect for the subs.  It is a pleasure to work on their homes.

This year the style of home will be a little different, last year we worked in a “transitional” style this year we will be a little more traditional with a small dose of vintage contemporary.  We will be featuring our Chocolate, White, and Garage Steel finishes.  We will have many different luxury features to feast your eyes on:  pullout ironing board, pullout pant racks, garage slat wall, jewelry storage lined in velvet and more.

Our first booth at the Home Show! We had a blast!!

It was a big process to bring A Divine Closet to the Home Show!  I had a major learning curve on many different levels – but overall our booth was beautiful and very well received.  Before the Home Show setup on Friday I was getting everything together and making my last minute design decisions and realized how far we have come!  It has been a dream come true each step of the way.  Three years ago I was laying in bed thinking I would like to open a closet business (due to my long history of roots in the interior design business, fashion industry, etc) and name it after my initials:  ADC, A Divine Closet.  Here we are three years later and attended our first Home Show!!  Goes to show dreams really do come true if you believe in yourself!

The Gainesville Sun, Builder’s Association of North Central Florida, and the Stephen C. O’Connell Center staff were all very accommodating and truly made effort to make us feel welcome and make sure we had what we needed.  For the most part everything was well organized and everything flowed with checking in, setting up and tearing down.  I had a space on the bottom floor and was nervous that I would get half of the traffic but I was happy with my space and how many people stopped by.  It is a long two days and very busy talking to each person that comes through the booth but I loved all of the interaction with potential clients and seeing the excitement for organization systems.

After the Home Show we didn’t know quite what to expect.  Of course, we were hoping for the buzz of business but didn’t know how quickly leads would come.  Good news:  THEY CAME!  We had a record order in one week of six custom closets and we are still going strong!

All in all it was a wonderful experience and I am sure we will be there next year!

As we prepare for installation the client has cleaned out her entire pantry (Thank you, Ruth!!) and is ready for our installation to begin on Monday morning, bright and early!  We designed opening shelving, pullout spice racks, pullout wine racks, broom and cleaning storage, and our favorite…a built in hutch to store her extra wine glasses, china (as she has many different sets), and below in the behind-cabinet storage she will be able to store all of her small kitchen appliances.  Our preparation begins with taking inventory on all of the needed material and accessories we ordered.  Monday we will begin removing the existing wire shelving and adding two electrical outlets to the pantry.  Once that is complete we will patch the walls and paint the existing color (an off-white).  Day 2 is the pantry installation (the fun part)!!!  This installation should take about 8-10hours.  Once the installation is complete we will hand over the newly designed, more functional, DIVINE pantry to Ruth and her family !

Following the pantry installation will be the AMAZING (if I do say so myself…) master walk-in custom closet.  This will feature a built in ironing board, short and long hanging space, decorative storage behind glass doors, plenty of drawers, locked gun storage, locked jewelry storage, and above hanging storage.

We are so excited to install another DIVINE pantry and closet !!!
